I love everything about this unit except one small thing. You cannot use both speaker's A and B in unisome like you can with some other units. It not a big deal however just have to choose whatever room you are in and turn them on which in turn shuts down the main speakers. The clarity and sound from this unit are very very good. Nearly that of the more expensive Denon and Harmon Kardon units. The biggest thing that people need to know is that the speakers need to be of quality. That's where most people mess up there sound experience buy opting for cheap speakers. Buy a Powered sub and make sure that all your other speakers can handle at least 100watts RMS power dont go buy the speakers Maximum power. Also it's best to use speakers that are 8ohm independence and have at least a 6.5inch woofer driver for the Front, Center and Rear's. I highly recommend this unit.Read full review
About the first reveiw, if you need a+b speakers at the same time people should look first before buying. AND THIS UNIT WILL RUN 6 OHM SPEAKERS, Its one of the best things, about it. Great full sound running at 6ohms, Deanon & Harmon are medium range typical reciever really and thisYamaha receiver is dated but a great receiver with old school power and sounds great. Putting a tape monitor for the purpose of an EQ would be something id want on the receiver but its the only flaw. Great sound for cheap.

This reciever fuctions are easy to understand. It has clean sound and is simple to control. It is outdated for the times but it is compatible for I pod and XM radio. you also cannot use both A and B channel at the same time.
Purchased a Yamaha receiver. The packaging was perfect and the receiver worked great! Thank you so much.
