First of all, it is made by Yamaha, so you should expect that it is going to sound good. My ancient ears can tell that is is clean in the sound department. And. I wear glasses, but I can still see that it is clean with its straight design lines. They are good with that! But, they don't think through the software side well. If they did, this would still be compatible with their iPhone and Android apps they are making for their BD-S677 player. To tell a customer who invested in this quality gear, "Go buy a new one!" is to say goodbye. I like my Aventage receiver so much, I might stick around, but I can't justify selling this and buying the 677 model just to work with the app. It burns me... Chaps my hide! You feel me?

The Yamaha is a replacement for a Sony bluray. Yamaha is able to connect to my vintage Epson projector since it has cable connectors (composite/component). Yamaha is able to stream or play from USB. USB mp4 must be HD for a good video experience. Simple to use. No owner's manual arrived with my Yamaha but there was no disadvantage when setting up. The online pdf is available at Yamaha.
