After going through various radios, this radio is the workhorse of my station. I run this radio all the time as a base 2M/70cm radio, and mostly as a full duplex crossband repeater for my AllStar node. I've run the thing all day at 5 Watts and the radio keeps on kicking out a nice clean signal. Programming can be a little quirky, and you need to keep in mind that when setting a hyper memory, it does more than save your channels. It also save all of your menu options, except crossband repeat. Once you have the radio set to your taste, then go through and save all of your hyper memories at that time. Then if you accidentally bump a hyper memory, you won't have to go back and change all your menu settings. The last quirk about the radio is the "Wires" function. If you "tap" the left volume knob, it will engage the "Wires" function. This sends out a tone at the beginning of your transmission that can get annoying if you're not talking on a "Wires" enabled repeater. Other than that, it's a ROCK SOLID radio that really performs! I LOVE IT!!! 73!Read full review
