A great album to begin with, and one the finest 5.1 mixes. Having many 5.1 audio mixes in several different formats; dvd-a, sacd, mvi, dts, blu-ray audio, some I consider quite subtle, and others, more adventurous. This one is definitely on the more adventurous side which I generally prefer, and most certainly in this case. On par with the Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, Fleetwood Mac, and Beck 5.1 mixes in quality, taste, and attention to detail. Highly recommended.

I've heard plenty of dvd audio disc's by now, but I was not prepared for the wonderful surprise I got when I heard the Young American's DVD Audio. ..WOW! I was absolutely impressed with this one! The clarity, separation, balance, all of it is distinct, and enjoyable. Just amazing! Very well done indeed, and that is an understatement! If you get the chance to pick this up...DO SO!!!

Nice packaging and detailed booklet. Nice dvd with the 3 different audio choices. DTS is the best. During Fame, a nice counterclockwise swirl during the high to low 'fame, fame, fame..' Great sound and video for the Cavett segments, though David's voice for the two songs is pretty shot at this point. An odd, but entertaining interview.
