Measuring cups by Pyrex are made with different ingredients. If the cup has capital case letters, (PYREX), it can survive from cold straight to the oven and can be removed safely. If it has lower case letters, (pyrex), it can survive from cold to the oven but "may" crack when taking it out of the oven. It doesn't crack every time but be thankful when it doesn't. One was made for the US consumer and the other was for overseas.

I think I got what I sent for. I didn’t open the package all the way as glass shards were falling out of the package. Actually cut my hand on a small piece of glass. Took to local store. They replaced it but charged me $1.50 extra.

I'm downsizing to a senior apartment and can't take my three generation collection of Pyrex measuring cups. I'm limited to cabinet space so I can only take one and a two cup size seemed the right choice. I've used Pyrex all my life and I've never had a piece break. Can't wait to be clutter free.

This measuring cup measures up to 2 cups, has ounces, as well as the metric system. It is made of borosilicate glass from PYREX which is high quality, and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Due to its decreased thermal shock, it can be safely used in ovens or microwaves.

Nowadays we use so much plastic but my Mom and Grandmother always had Pyrex measuring cups which truly are the best . Lettering and #'s never fade away and are highly visible ,so glad to have mine had 2 plastic ones where lettering was so faded and you had to "Guess" >:o)
