This book is helping me to see how to really help beyond giving homeless people some change or food on the street. It goes deeper into motivations and lasting changes.

Very good book. Needed to read this for an upcoming mission trip to Haiti. It ready does make you think about how we help those in need. In todays world, it is very easy to get what you want for no effort on your part. And good people feed into those needs, thinking that they are helping the poor. Those that want to move beyond where they are at, need a different kind of help. We have to be willing to do things differently.
This is a good book on how a resident missionary can best help with the natives to the country. What to do and what not to do.......we have to remember that this is their home and culture and it is better to try to adapt to them. I find that it written in a simple way for newer christians perhaps; but still can obtain alot from the information.
Very informative

I bought this book because it was suggest to read prior to a mission trip I will be taking to another country over the winter break from college. I enjoyed reading the book in general and I think more people should look into reading this. I haven't read a whole lot of books along these lines of writing, but I really did like it!
