Bought this for a IBM E50 that was scheduled for the land fill because it had been running Windows 98. Old hard drive had been destroyed so I needed a cheap decent size hard drive in new condition to install Linux. This drive fit the bill. Debian installed just fine. Drive is silent. Runs quiet. Bios saw it right away with the jumper set right. Pretty happy with this $8.00 drive on a free IBM Desktop Computer. 7200 rpm speed makes the operating system applications respond quickly. Copy files and read and write speeds are acceptable also on a computer so old. Hard drive temperatures are also low according to my terminal readouts in Debian.
Drive works and was exactly what I needed for a project Thank you!!
