This Western Digital hard drive holds a large quantity of data and accesses it quickly. Those who work with enterprise drives know that the internal hard drive performance might become negatively affected by environmental vibration. The Western Digital RE2 addresses this issue by using Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward (RAFF). This senses the vibrations from rotation and adjusts the drive head position to keep the drive head away from the platter. What's more, the Western Digital hard drive also keeps information moving by utilizing Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER). This reduces the time a drive spends on attempted error recovery. The creators of the Western Digital RE2 believe in their product and give it a 1.2 million hours MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) rating. The internal hard drive is 1.03-inches tall, 4-inches wide, has a depth of 5.79-inches, and weighs 1.32 lbs. It's spindle speed is 7,200 RPM.

To replace or not to replace.
Bought this hard drive as a replacement. It was easy to install and I had no problems with the software installation. The drive's GB size was larger than the original, which allows more pics, music, video and applications. I do recommend a similar product for any DIY computer repairer.

Superb Item for the low price
Talking about a hard drive, Sata at that, that holds 250 gig of massive data storage. Its 16meg cache makes it impecable for the size drive it is because generally you'll get 8meg of cache with this size drive or lower. Very quite, industrial use har drive built to last for many years to come a minimum of 5years, and thats just under the 5 year warranty that they give you for this particular hard drive. If you want a hard drive that transfers and downloads fast, is quite and effecient and holds a quarter of a tera byte, then this is the item, hard drive that you are looking for.

SATA WD Hard Drive 250 GB
Nice price, but I hope this hard drive lasts longer than 3 year. This is my first SATA drive and I've never had an IDE hard drive fail me. Some of my IDE hard drives are 6 years old!
