I will talk about two aspects of this film in this review. Firstly, we have Wesley himself; rolling through life on the bus, talking and engaging with everyone he meets. This film presents him as a man who was truly humbled by his Demons. If you listen closely, you can pick up on things that would normally be left un-noticed, such as a detailed account of Roger Lee Carpenter, his mother's ex-boyfriend who traumatized Wesley by putting a pistol to his head and demanding money. "He had one of them unlawful guns. He took my damn money and smoked that damn cocaine. Now he's in prison serving 55 years to life for murder" Wesley mumbles in one scene. In another scene, at the Greyhound bus station, we find Wesley talking to various strangers (of course, to Wesley, no one was a stranger!) about his Demons. "F*** that Demon. My Demon thinks I will never draw again. I'm going to get back to my artwork tomorrow. My Demon also thinks I'm a child killer but I'm not" Wesley explains. Overall, this is a presentation of a day in the life of someone who has gone through the worst with a smile on his face, and emerged as one of the few genuinely kind people who has ever walked the earth. The second aspect of this film--and the only reason I didn't give it an "Excellent" rating--is the film's lack of structure or depth outside of Wesley's actual remarks. We do not learn very much about Wesley's childhood or youth, nor are we given much in the way of concrete biographical information. However, some moments depict drawings and various items related to Wesley that are very interesting. Amateur camera work is used in this film. Overall, an excellent film for any fan to get a great understanding of Wesley's personality, music, and life. Practically guaranteed to make you miss him that much more. R.I.P. What can I say about Wesley Willis that hasn't already been said. The man is a legend. He overcame so much and always stayed positive. This movie is only the 2nd best one. I suggest watching this one first and then watching Wesley Willis Joy Rides. This really only looks at a short period of time in 2000. The other focuses on his entire life. Worth seeing, but the other movie is better.
Wesley is brilliant! RIP! Love his lyrics! Hilarious! Come up with something better than "Awesome sauce" though. Wesley would have thought that that's pretty lame!

Although I expected it to be more video of him at his venues, or concerts, it turned out to be a very funny, but touching documentory
