Auszug: ...der Feldherr, der gegen den armen Kaspar Hauser gefuhrten Anschlage betrachtet werden. Wir lassen hier seine etwaige Theilnahme an dem ersten Mordversuche aus dem Spiele, machen aber darauf aufmerksam, dass Stanhope nach langer Abwesenheit seine Ruckkehr nach Ansbach auf den October 1833 angezeigt hatte, dass er aber erst nach dem Verbrechen im Hofgarten wieder in Ansbach erschien und dass es erwiesen ist, dass er sich damals in der Gegend verborgen hielt. Er hatte dessfalls sogar Verhore zu bestehen. Nach der Ermordung des armen Findlings bestand die Thatigkeit des Grafen darin, verdachtigende Broschuren gegen Hauser in die Welt zu jagen; so suchte er in einer gedruckten Schrift Materialien zur Geschichte Kaspar Hausers, Heidelberg 1835" seine ganze Handlungsweise in dieser Sache zu rechtfertigen und auch andere Federn zu diesem Zwecke zu gewinnen. Als dieser Strom von Verdachtigungen losgelassen wurde, hatte der Tod unter den Vertheidigern Kaspar Hausers bereits eine reiche Ernte gehalten, zu welcher demselben allem Anschein nach kunstliche Beihilfe geleistet wurde; so waren namentlich Feuerbach, Burgermeister Binder, Dr. Osterhauser, Dr. Preu, Dr. Albert, Magistratsrath Bieberbach, lauter aufrichtige Gonner Hausers, nicht mehr am Leben. (Auch Daumer erzahlt von 2 Fallen, in welchen seinem Leben nachgestellt war.) Trotzdem hat aber der Graf feinen Zweck schon desshalb nicht erreicht, weil sein Hauptstreben darin bestand, den Kaspar Hauser als einen verschmitzten Burschen, einen hinterlistigen Betruger, der seine Freunde hintergangen, hinzustellen und der sich desshalb, weil er

Almost the same contents of the 6th edition
Contains about the same titles and subtitles of the newer versions, pictures of the new edition have better resolution, that's about it.
