I have had a 2.5 quart Wearever sauce pan for about 5 years now. I also have bought numerous very expensive pans from Scanpan and Calphalon and All-Clad. I find these pans to be superior to those as they're sturdy, very well made, have a thick bottom that heats evenly, and the pour spouts and glass straining lid is very versatile. It lets you view foods as well as strain. The finish is mirror like on the outside and wears well, and the base is a thick piece that I believe is an aluminum core encased in stainless and then bonded onto the pot. I can't speak as to Wearever saute pans, but for sauce pans, it's hard to go wrong with these.

This is a great sauce/cook pan. The steam holes in the pyrex-type top enable whatever you are cooking to breathe, without spitting sauce all over the place like pans where you have to side-cock the lid in order to release steam. The primary reason I purchased this pan, however, was for the generous built-in spout. It is fantastic for boiling tea and allowing for mess-free transfer into a pitcher. It also enables sauce to be poured efficiently, without undue clean-up. Highly recommended!

Used it. Because of the "snout" pouring liquid is a cinch vs the other types.
