I did not buy anything in our local musical shops for about a year already because prices there are awful. It's better for me to wait for a couple of weeks and get the gear at least 50% cheaper than in local store. So this time I went to eBay for some really transparent and light versatile guitar overdrive box which could add some harmonics to my sound. I'm not a fan of distortions and have only Fuzz Factory in my board so I've checked few demos and thought that sound of slightly overdriven tube amp will do the trick and add some fat to crazy fuzzy sound of FF. Pedal was packed fine and I might say that Way Huge design is awesome. Bright colors - own for each pedal, top placed in and out - very handy when in pedalboard, sweet handy knobs - you just want to look at it, tweak it, play through it. Pedal has awesome "money for value" ratio, this is really amazing transparent overdrive and it's sooo soft! Like a fluffy feather bed, airy and lush, works sweet with analogue and digital delays, modulation, reverbs et cetera. It also translate your clean sound through so you can just mix clean and overdriven signals as you wish. Button is very quiet, bypass is true and won't eat a bit of your sound. "Curve" knob will let you adjust mid frequencies to fit better in the band mix. Just everything I wished. Angry Fuzz Factory sound became warm and huge. And you can also use it as a clean booster for solos! So I've really enjoyed this pedal. If you need very soft and transparent flexible overdrive - you should give it a try.Read full review
This pedal does exactly what it claims to do. No more & no less. If you love blues rock & Joe Bonamassa type music then this is the pedal for you! It also serves as a nice volume boost as well as the nice soft clipping that it does. It's not a high gain pedal for heavy metal. All of the controls work as advertised. The clean cleans up the overdrive a bit and the curve seems to add or subtract bass from the signal. The tone control is cool as it will defeat turned all the way clockwise. I'm very satisfied with it and will enjoy it for years to come. It's a keeper boys & girls!
I needed a second adjustable overdrive pedal, to give a bit more boost and overdrive, on top of my existing pedal when required. It has a lot of adjustment latitude, but this can keep you continually adjusting, looking for the sound you want.Unless running it very clean, there is quite a boost in the bass response when activated.I play through a Fender Bassman, this has heaps of bass to start with, so I don't need any more bass enhancement. To be fair, I am still getting my head around this pedal. I feel this is a very good pedal on its own, but am still on the fence, whether it works with my gear and style or not.
The Pork Loin will fatten up your guitar tone with a nice volume boost range and a natural, lower gain overdrive that works well for blues and classic rock. The bonus is the clean control that adds a touch of punch and clarity to the overdriven sound, as well as the internal pots to fine tune your tone. To my ears it's more effective fattening up single coil guitars. You might find that humbuckers tend to sound too dark or "muffled" with most settings of the pedal. All in all, a very musical-sounding pedal with the right guitar.
Now we're talkin'! Puahing my Strat into a '63 VibroVerb reissue I can get some nice greasy breakup suited to the retro blues, R&B thing that I play live. Easy to use. Affords me a wide range of onstage volumes, as it sounds very good at amp settings (volume) from 2-3 on up. I left the factory preset internal pots as they came. Dialed some sweet, fat tones in no time. Cleans up fairly well as guitar volume is pulled down. I can control breakup from my axe without fiddling with the pedal itself. Owned most of the higher-end OD pedals: Matchless HotBox, boutique-mod Tube Screamers, OCD, Zen Drive and the like. This seems to be a keeper. Cost is mid-range for this sort of effect. I place a high value on this design.
