I bought two of these for my 2 boys XL5 Stampedes. Both motors run great at top speed with NiMh batteries. Little tough to read ESC directions and figure out good settings. Still working of perfection. One of the ESC’s starts up funny turn it off then on then all ok. So thinking it would be fine with better ESC. Great purchase for the money.

For under $40 it's a great deal. It's petty fast and doesn't overheat quickly. The downside is it's not very smooth. WAY faster than a brushed set up, good for a basher. I would definitely buy again to put on another lower end rc.

When I put this thing in my sct, it ran okay. There is a hesitation upon throttling & I felt the factory settings made it this way. Well then I put a better battery to it & it just tears up the track. It was much faster h the hesitation was significantly less. If you purchase this combo, I would opt for the $7.99 programming card so you can tweak the settings. All in all, it's been worth it so far.

Had it for about a month used a few times a week. Went out to use it and it would not move. Brought it in to figure out the problem and the esc started smoking really bad and crackling. Motor is good though with stock gearing on the stampede works awesome! Tons of power and speed!

It's a cheapo for sure, but it's one of the good cheapo's for sure. Running 2s in a rustler is a perfect combo to not overheat even with a heavy throttle finger and still enough power to flip it on its top with ease at a roll. Shipping took FOREVER though, almost a month of waiting before it got here.
