I would have been upset in a movie house paying $11.00 and then $10.00 more for pop corn and beverage. It's worth $5.00 on Ebay and YOUR OWN pop corn and drink. Pros Good value (if $5.00) Intriguing setting Unpredictable Cons Muddled plot Mediocre acting Lacking in scares Here we go ... Sam Walczak (Barton) is a young engineer looking to make a name for herself in her father's demolition business. For her 25th birthday, he gives her an assignment with the agreement that if she succeeds, she'll become a partner. All she has to do is travel to a condemned apartment building and analyze the best locations to place explosives to get it to fall neatly and safely. When she arrives at the building, which resembles a silo in the middle of a marshland, she learns that it was the location of a massacre in which a resident interred 16 people in the concrete walls -- including the building's mysterious architect, Joseph Malestrazza. However, the caretaker's son, Jimmy, talks as if Malestrazza is still living in the building, and when Sam hears voices from the walls, she begins to wonder if he’s right. She has a more pressing issue than ghosts, though; the few remaining tenants aren't pleased that she's there to tear down their home, and with the nearest hotel 50 miles away, she has to spend the night in hostile territory. Slowly, Sam unravels the mystery behind the murders, discovering that there are plenty of secrets that dwell both in and out of the walls. Walled In is a 'good looking' movie and a 'good cast' that goes to waste on a convoluted plot that combines cliched elements from ghost stories, torture porn and backwoods horror. Attempts to scare feel cheap and hackneyed. Bleeding walls! Little girl ghosts singing nursery rhymes! A heroine with psychic ties to the crime! Yawn. Same ol I seen it a hundred times! The acting is lacking, despite a decent cast. This is funny, The character 'Jimmy' sounds like Napoleon Dynamite and 'Sam' comes off as an OC star trying to sound like an adult ! (-: That's pretty rough!). This movie could have used a couple of nude scenes BADLY but 3 covered teases is all you get. Use your own discretion. If you can get it 5 or less, OK... This film is worth watching, if you like horror/slasher films. Strong female heroine, interesting premise of an apartment building about to be demolished but the tenants are still living there. Plot got rather muddled ---hard to tell if the killer has real supernatural powers or is merely insane. Like many horror films, some parts don't hold up to close inspection. It makes no sense that people would live in a large apartment building that is fifty miles away from the nearest supermarket, gas station, post office, etc, especially since some of them don't have cars. If the building is being demolished TOMORROW, why are they still there with all their furniture? The mystery of where the killer is hiding is easy to solve if you've seen THE TOOL BOX MURDERS. Summary: WALLED IN will hold your interest if you like this genre, but there's little here that you haven't seen many times before.Read full review
I bought Walled In (DVD, 2009)Overall It a pretty good,I had high hopes for this movie after seeing the trailer. This could have been a good movie, but... The production team seemed to have run out of money, and then had to wrap it up really fast half way through, causing a hasty and staggering series of quick shots with "one-take" scenes. This, obviously, made the actors look bad and that's a shame. They did a good job at the beginning of the film. The first 20-30 minutes of the movie is actually pretty good, but I'll save you the time by saying that it went downhill FAST. I'll give you perspective that the budget of a film means nothing to me. Sure, I love the special effects that make the big-budget films soar and help tell the story, but I like the low-budget, indie films just as well, provided it tells a good story. This film has neither. When they started to rush, they lost the viewer by getting off track, and seemingly changing the actual story line, making it confusing, wobbly-paced, and completely destroying the story. Not intense, not scary, not interesting. Save your time and enjoy a good indie thriller or a big-budget film that you've yet to seeRead full review

Sam is young, smart and beautiful, but she's no ordinary woman, she's a demolition expert, usually considered as a man's job. This job should have been very easy: conduct a structural analysis on a building located in the remote Scottish swamps, a necessary step before demolition. The building was supposed to be empty upon her arriving. But strangely there are still a few lingering tenants, amongst them the caretaker and her 15 year old boy. The eight-story building has a grim past and Sam, forced to live in the cursed complex while conducting her study to demolish the building, has trouble sleeping. deep in the night, metal banging noises sifting through the walls, the same walls where fifteen years earlier, the building's architect had sadistically murdered some of the tenants by burying them alive within the walls of the building ... including the caretaker's husband. The police had never been able to arrest the killer. Now, deep within the maze-like corridors of the building, guided by the 15 year boy, Sam feels the lingering shadow of these past murders. Sam's paranoia builds up and comes to a conclusion when she comes face to face with her terrors and we find out who or what continues to haunt this mysterious place.
