The 3D gives these images a great perspective when viewing. There are also some color scenes. I hadn't known about the Germans filming in 3D for their propaganda. It's amazing that this survived the war.

Basically they took about 25 3D/stereoscopic pictures (stills) and made a 40-minute film around it by adding lots of filler material and history. Sometimes they even showed the same photos three of four times. Not really a great DVD unless you are an avid WWII fan.

This is a very good documentary about how 3D was utilized in WW2 with previously unseen footage. Any history buff would probably enjoy this release. The 3D photos are are great and and there is also a previously unseen video showing German soldiers in training that was shot in full 3D. The title probably sounds gimmicky but in reality this release is very good. The only thing keeping this from getting a 5/5 is the fact that there is no special features or extras of any kind.
A pleasant surprise that genuine 3D photos and film survied the bloody legacy of the "Thousand Year Reich". This new documentary is generally basic in scope and dry in content yet the images are of extreme value to history. We are introduced to Hitler's 3D photographer, learn his story, see rare French images and color footage from the liberation of Paris in Summer 1944. The 50 minute running time is well worth the modest price for any WWII buff or serious historian.
This was a fantastic program done by the history channel showing that 3D has been around for many years. I personally cannot see why it failed for tv this time around. This was very educational about previous times.
