This was just for a portable back up drive, advertised as for parts or repair. I would not recommend these types of drives to anyone who does not have the tools and knowledge required to perform a complete repair, you will only be disappointed, especially if you load windows on one that has bad sectors. It may load windows, but there will be errors and problems sooner or later as data gets put on the bad sectors. For that reason all the bad sectors need to be repaired first, which I was able to do on this one. An involved process that formatting alone does not do. Hope this helps some people decide.
Great part for mechanical rebuilt of another drive. Generally speaking this family of drives is very sensitive to deterioration. So, backup is critical.
