In the summer of 1970, The Goose went back into the studio to start laying down tracks for their sophomore album. The line up for these sessions included: Charlie, Pearl and Willard along with “Flying” Fred Weisz on fiddle, Doug Haywood on bass, and Mickey McGee on drums. On March 5th, 1971 Capital records issued Goose Creek’s 2nd album, “Welcome To Goose Greek.” This recording solidified the band’s reputation. In addition to the title track, it also included: “Right Track”, “Back Here”, “Saga ‘Neath The Sycamore”, “Miana and Me”, “I Won't Go Through That Again”, “Higher On The Mountain”, “Finale For A Symphony”, “The Corn Won't Grow, So Rock 'N Roll” and a revamp of the Bill Monroe Classic “Uncle Pen.”
So good to hear this album again. Really takes me back. All I need now is a bottle of Boone's Farm Apple wine and a bong.
