Pros: This is my 3d Hog Hunter because I have several 7.62mm AR's and .308 rifles I use for medium range shooting. I also have a couple Crossfire 6-24x50's for long-range shooting. I love the clear optics on these Vortex Crossfire II scopes. They are clear around the edges as well as main viewing vector for an excellent price for this quality glass which I believe are comparable with the higher-end Vortex Viper scopes that cost double the price. I've got 15 or more scopes, including a couple Trijicon 2.5-10x56mm and still think the Vortex Crossfire II scopes are a better bang-for-my-buck because I get excellent clear and warm optics and can buy 3 Crossfire scopes for the price of 1 of my Triji's. Cons: Some say the rotating adjustments are a little stiff, but that's the way I like them -just my preference. Could have come with better front & rear covers, but these are ok for my use because if you purchase optional flip-up covers like the Butler Creek type they don't work on the front sight anyway because of the rotating ring. Recommendation: Go to your favorite gun shop and compare (hands-on) for yourself. Ask the sales-person if you can step outside to compare a couple different scopes...that's what many people do, but most are too timid to ask. Most (mon & pop) gun stores don't mind for they want to make a sale and/or maintain good customer relations anyway...it's YOUR money -until you give it to them.Read full review

Its a good product but i just got one that the up and down cross hair came loose after about 10 shots out of my Mossberg 308 i sent it out to be fixed. The Vortex people were very nice didn't cost me a thing to send it back to them.

So I wanted a scope so I could hunt the legal hunting hours. I mounted this on my junk scorpyd crossbow and this scope is amazing. I know and understand exit pupil diameter and that this scope will create an exit pupil diameter far greater than my eyes can use, but that's not what matters to me. What does matter is the fact that I can see my target at 40 yards at quitting time and I couldn't with the Legend. I wasn't sure if I could justify the money but after the first time I used it I knew it was worth it. The AO is stiff to turn but I shoot my crossbow 40 yards so I dont have to fiddle fart around with it. The reticle is awsome with the red dot and variable brightness settings. I did bag a nice 8 point, half hour after taking this picture, using this scope but it was midafternoon and I didn't need any of the features that this scope offers. BUT, If a time does come I am setup great now. I used some camo duct tape cause I'm not in a good blind.Read full review

I bought this scope for .223 for coyote hunting and it works great in low light situations and also during the day. Very clear in all settings of magnification and easy to use. Highly recommended to anyone whose looking for a night time scope.

Used this on Ruger American Predator 308W, and killed 3 hogs first weekend. Could see into wooded cover near edge of field much better than comparable Scopes like mk IV, you know the brand at 25 % of cost. Only knock is that I thought it was made in Philippines like their up line, but made in CHINA on tube. Still worked great for its name sake. HOG HUNTER. Works. Would recommend it. Dot is not brightest in daylight, but worked great at night under feeder lights. GET ONE.
