First thing to point is how great the picture quality is. This tv is amazing in how smooth it is and how well everything shows up. Not to jinx myself but a lot of the vizio review in general have said that the sound is not very good and blah blah blah but this tv has terrific sound quality and works great for me. I like to think of myself as a semi pro gamer and when I say this tv is pretty good for my needs in that area I'm saying it with give and take in my opinion. The refresh rate being at 240hz over the normal 120hz is a big bonus to this tv but the size of the tv still slows general gameplay just a bit with a very very slight lag time that's almost unnoticeable to all but the most serious players.....or my bad WiFi connection is causing it. Either way the picture quality of this 1080p tv makes up for any faults you could point out. The internet apps are phenomenal as well. There is a great list of apps to download to your tv through the app center which is very easily used via the universal remote they send you with the tv (it has a full keypad built into the remote which slides out like a cell phone. Big koodos on that idea). Over all this tv is amazing. The picture, smooth frame rates, sound, and over all accessibility make this tv my number 1 recommendation to anyone willing to set aside their idea of the name brand TVs like LG and sony being so much better and trying a less popular brand that's quickly making its way to the top. buy this tvRead full review
- Why you bought it- I bought this TV in September 2010 as a replacement for our 15 year old 39" TV in the living room. The reason I ended up going with this model was that it had all of the bells and whistles (240 refresh rate, 1080p, internet apps and wireless) at an excellent price (I paid 600). It took a lot of looking around, price searching, and lost auctions before I finally won an auction at this price, but it was worth it. - What you like most about it. The picture really is quite good...better than our new 32" Sony LCD we have in our other room. The VIA internet apps add a new dimension to my couch potato activities. Currently I only have basic cable so the apps really expand my viewing opportunities. The Netflix app on this TV has a good interface that lets you browse for additional titles that are not in your queue (my Samsung Blue ray player with Netflix on my other tv does not let me browse which is annoying), I have used Amazon on demand for buying episodes of this seasons Madmen since my cable doesn’t get that channel and the Vudu app has movies that the other 2 don’t always have. I have also used the Facebook app which is especially nice for viewing your facebook photos. I have some albums on FB and it is great to show them on the 42" screen. Navigating around facebook is not that easy on the TV, but you can eventually find what you are looking for. There is also an app so I can view my Yahoo fantasy football team, but I cannot make any adjustments to my roster so it is of limited use. I like the wireless capabilities of the TV. I had thought I might end up wiring it to my router if streaming movies was a problem since wireless is always slower than wired, but it is not a problem. - What you dislike about it? Lets see, I wish the remote was back lit...it is hard to use at night. I had also hoped there were more free TV viewing /streaming apps ...some of the information I found online made me think that the big TV networks had apps to stream their popular shows, but they don’t seem to exist. - I would buy this TV again at this price... in fact I am tempted to try to buy another, but I am noticing that there are not many auctions out there for this model. The newer Vizio with via all seem to be LCD and LED...nice, but pricey.Read full review
This unit is outstanding. I'm very happy with the picture quality and sound. (I'm pretty fussy and typically not easily impressed) The remote paired easily with my HD cable box. The remote is bluetooth which is nice because you don't have to aim it at the TV. You do have to aim at the cable box however as it's not bluetooth. TV set up with my wifi easily. We have a smallish living room and the sound is excellent without any additional speakers or sound bars. If you need more sound than this TV can produce then you are most likely purchacing a much larger TV for your huge screen move area.
about the product itself? the flicker rate was very high and the back lighting helps avoid burn-in, even if i leave it on it dims so that the screen doesn't get damaged, blue ray on my ps3 looks absolutely amazing at 1080p and the internet apps and Wi-Fi are incredibly cool, it goes well with the querty keyboard, i bought it because i heard alot of good things about Vizio's and this tv was about the same price as it's much lesser 60hz models in stores, so i had to jump on it. the usb ports on the side could be more useful, i hook up my laptop and it doesn't show a secondary monitor, but i haven't finished going through all the options yet.
I've had this tv for two weeks now and like it very much good clean picture and a lot of nice features. The only negative I've found so far and it's not a huge deal but once in awhile fore some reason the audio shuts off a quick change of channel and back fixes it so it's just mildly irritating. Comes with a lot of internet apps built in and a widget gallary to get more, the wifi is nice you don't have to run a wire for internet as long as you have a wireless router. overall I recommend.
