Was a little skeptical about bidding on this but it had a great BIN price. Vivitar has been around and has a reputation starting with it's legacy 283 and 285 flashes which have never failed me. This filter has no color fringing, is multi-coated, and optically clean. The ring is fairly thin but for the price that frill is a no-brainer compared to others. It think this filter compares favorably with one costing at least 5-10 times more, hands-down.
I usually carry three different ND filters then I bought the Vivitar Variable range ND filter which gives me a much larger range of options than the three filters combined. It takes up much less room in my camera bag and its very easy to use. It's a great product for a very reasonable price and it works great.
There are two major issues in this products. 1) image quality is very bad; 2) the dark shadow to block light is not uniformly distributed.

It leaves crucifix when I was trying longer exposures. This was not fixed at higher zooms. I got what I paid for, scrap plastic! I'll spend money and get single ND filters next time.
