Something Weird did this one perfectly. The print is the best for THE VIOLENT YEARS that I have ever seen. And better yet, you get NOT JUST ONE but two great female JD movies. Ed Wood wrote THE VIOLENT YEARS and it doesn't MATTER he didn't direct it. His script is what keeps this running. The highlight is the judges' address to the parents. He rakes them over the coals, putting ALL the blame for their delinquint daughter's behavior on them. (The court room is a bit bigger then an office staff lounge, but not by much..) And how did this one get past the censor? Does the phrase "Drag City" ring any bells?? The gals all call each other by men's names and dress up like boys when they go on their crime rampages. There is hinted Communist influence. Molested males at the lovers lane..and loung clothing you WILL NOT believe. If you wonder how THIS got past the censor..check out GIRL GANG, our SECOND GREAT FEATURE...car theft, on screen mainline drug shooting..boogie woogie music at an orgy...it's a teenage exploitation fan's dream come true. I am NOT sure that Ed didn't write this one either,(there's no credit, and it sure SOUNDS like his stuff).. and with Wood regular Tim Farrell along, we can sit back and dream, can't we? There are lots of extras..drive in intermission commercials..and even a documentary on solving the delinquincy problem. The whole disc is a blast.Read full review
