This is 22awg solid core vintage waxed cloth covered wire that I and probably countless others have used for guitar wiring. I find it easy to use as it isn't floppy, it handles really well, takes the contours of and shaping around of other components in the wiring schema and most importantly of all for a builder like me, it's easy to use - snip, push and solder, it really is that simple. The cloth covering is also far less of a problem than some equivalent 22awg plastic coated wires as the wire itself dictates the shape of the fit, not the insulation, as has been the case on occasion. This leads to far better joints as there is little to zero pressure exerted by the covering, especially in short runs such as between tone pots, and between other components - it's especially good on switches as it folds and bends to whatever shape is best fit. The lighter colours need a little care in handling as they pick up oils and moisture from your fingers and stain quite readily, so minimal handling is essential. It's also important to cut the wire cleanly - don't use strippers, use a pair of wirecutters or you'll end up with frayed ends which are unsightly The best of it however is how good this stuff looks in a build - I use red, yellow, white and black and they do look the business in combination. Other uses I am aware of include amplifier repair and valve radio, apparently. Another good point is the supplier, Ed - he's a cool guy, always ready to help with queries about orders and about the product. Well worth the slightly higher price to ship from the States as opposed to buying from the EURead full review
