Well....if you have kept up with Judith's husband's ex-wife, Vivian Flynn in past books and thought you were rid of her.....read this! She moves back into the neighborhood with her new and much younger husband....the son of her just decreased husband Potsy Buss! I think the years of drinking from day to night have finally caught up with her, and so have Potsy Buss' relatives! I won't tell you the awful thing that she has planned when she buys the house next to hers. Let's just say she is the one neighbor that everyone loves to hate. Justice does prevail in the end and I was happy to see Vivian get hers! I do hope we don't hear any more about her in Ms. Daheim's books. She has certainly worn out her welcome big time! Also....is it my imagination or has cousin Renie become more loopier than usual? Seems like Judith can't count on anyone, certainly not her cranky mother or disappearing husband or weird housekeeper. Welcome to the B&B!Read full review
I can relate to the Bed & Breakfast owner, Mrs. Flynn. She's getting older with aches & pains from hip surgery, and she lives in my home state of Washington. This mystery book is easy to read & the plot is easy to follow, nothing like an Agatha Christie book. Judith Flynn, amateur detective, usually plays a primary role in solving the mystery. She does solve this mystery more from her observations than her usual physical involvement. This is an enjoyable mystery series, and an easy read.
