On the unit, the doors fit poorly and they REALLY need a high temp sealer / gasket which I applied (self stick lava lock) with some added high temp food grade silicone sealer. It stopped leaking hot air and smoke, but the cabinet still has a problem getting a safe internal temperature until I added the "WOK" as a charcoal basket, and retired the original charcoal basket to catch ash from the "WOK. Now I can easily keep the temperature at 250 degrees F and if I'm not careful it will go past 400! I have made pork chops, chicken, ribs, sausages, frozen Tombstone pizza, and even a half dozen smoked eggs (in the shell) and all turned out excellent. From what I read online, these temperature control issues are common even in models much more expensive than this and being the Char Broil is so inexpensive it's worth it to make it work better.Read full review

The smoker worked fine. The only problem I have, after one use a small pin that allows the bottom rack that holds the pan for charcoal slide back and forth broke off and now I have to find a way to fix this to get the proper execution of the product. How do I find another bottom rack??????

I use it for smoking my Trout and Salmon. Very easy to use and ml e around. Smokes fish evenly on both racks and it’s easy to keep the temps stable. The only thing it’s lacking is an accurate temp gauge. The one installed (at least in my unit) isn’t accurate. Had to install a secondary gauge for more accurate reading. Over all, worth the $200.

As a first time smoker my ribs were done perfectly the first time. 4 out of 5 stars as There are a couple of modifications. 1 Drill smooth 3/8 inch holes in the charcoal pan for increased airflow. Invest in a good thermometer with a couple probes.
