The Viofo A119 is a great dashcam generating high quality video in varying lighting conditions. Unobtrusive design with a set it and forget it configuration at a great price point make this one a winner! I use it with a 64GB MicroSD card. It can be easily removed from the mounting base for fast plug in access to a computer to download stored timestamped MP4 video files. I use it at 2K resolution with 3 minute video segments. Recommended for rideshare drivers and others wanting to document their view of the road.

#1. It stop recording very first day even dough the camera was still in normal recording mode pretending just like it was recording. #2. It does not stay in highest resolution, it will go back to 1920x1080 randomly. #3. The photo shot is never larger then 1920x1080 which is useless for reading licence plates. #4. Parking mode set for 5 frames / sec will record sometime slow mo, some time fast but when it records slow mo it will play back only fast motion and sometimes doesn't record at all. #5. Not compatible with Win 7, it will play back choppy video, not consistent. Yes I did try different video players. #6. Motion detection is again sometime working, sometime not working. It will write the files sometime in different folder sometime not, and sometime it will split it in two different folders. It can not be set or used together with parking mode yet the parking mode will sometime work as motion detection - again...only some time. I didn't test all of the settings but I don't feel like wasting any more of my time with this toy, bottom line this toy is very far from security device...Either this is a counter fit unit or piece of junk. I use it only a month and for now it works well. Better build quality than my older G1W and mini80x (don't remember that I had 805 or 806). G1W is cheaper, but mini80x was more expensive than this one. Video quality is pretty good. I use 1080p mode. Form factor is good, it's not so big for me. Good thing is that it comes with dual usb charger and two mounts that can be installed in two cars. Easy to swap, however it's nice to have a separate dashcam for each car. Lens can be adjusted in vertical direction, however hard click steps are pretty big. Also it can be adjusted in horizontal direction (no clicks), but for me it's questionable feature as it can be adjusted only in small range and fills flimsy. Hopefully it will not start to go left/right by itself on bumpy roads. It's capacitor version, so it works only when plugged in, but hopefully it will last longer in our hot weather. It auto-powers on/off depending on car power on/off and capacitor energy is enough to stop recording and shout down a camera. Read full review

This camera is, by far, the best one I have bought for my vehicle. the video is crisp and clear, the playback does not skip around like my previous dashcam, and so far, the setup has been easy to do. Like many other reviews I have read, I had to download the firmware update, which is easy to do if you google Viofo A119 firmware update. The audio works great, though when played back, it is a little quiet on the computer speakers. I found this can be helped with plug-in external speakers or, if your computer allows it, a Bluetooth headset. The camera microphone is awesome at picking up audio inside the vehicle, as it was able to hear the other end of my phone conversation as the bone conduction headset I was wearing was turned up pretty high to counter vehicle noise. My passenger could not hear the other end of my conversation, but this camera was able to pick it up, so I would say that the audio pick up is pretty good. My camera came with the GPS mount, and while many have commented on the stability of the camera when connected to the GPS mount, I have found that if you don't move it with your hand, it is actually pretty solid. I accidently went over a speed bump faster than I wanted to, and upon reviewing the footage, found the camera had remained in position and moved with the vehicle and did not jostle in it's mount. I think that this a decent starter dashcam that won't break the bank.Read full review

This unit is in use for my Pickups rear window{an A119S in front}. I prefer 1080-60. Threw my tests here in Southern Arizona these settings work the best for me, 1080-60, WD -Yes, ISO +3, 10 min loop, Format On, in U.S. always set Frequency to 60hz.. Excellent Video, Even night time videos are good.. The camera is One of easiest to set up on the market.. Only my expensive Sport cam takes better Videos { But couldn't take the Summer front window Heat +200deg, warped}.. I don't care for 2K or even 4K in inexpensive cameras, the Programming just isn't up to par, Yet.
