Viewsonic v36 First off, the reason I wanted a v36 is because I found out the hard way there is only a few things you can do with a palm pilot and when I heard microsoft had an operating system for a pda, "Microsoft Windows pocket pc" I thought it must be decent so I did a search here on ebay and found this v36 which looked decent and also had a camera. So I waited for a while until I found the deal I wanted and bought one for 80$. So when I got it I bagan to mess around with pocket pc and decided it really did blow away palm. I took a few pictures and it did a decent job for 640x480 resolution so I was happy with that but when I tried out the video it was so poor with its about 1 frame per second and horrible sound that I never even used it again but one of the best features of the device it windows media player for pocket pc. Whenever I want to listen to some music I just pop in my 1gb sd card browse for the song I want in explorer click it and Windows media player poped right up and played it just like on my computer. That also goes for videos. And did I mention the great games you can put on this thing providing me with entertainment whenever im sitting in a traffic jam. Also when saw internet explorer on the start menu I thought why not give it a try so I thought so I could buy a wifi sd card on eBay but they are pretty pricey so I thought whel I'l just stick it in the dock and see if it wil pick up internet from the pc and before no time I was browsing eBay on the pocket pc. There some other great programs you can put on here like aol instant messenger and skype. If only it had wifi built in. Overall I was very pleased with it. One of the only cons with it is its poor casing and buttons. After a year my buttons just started to fall out and it had gotten pretty badly scratched up but then again I did use it alot. I whould give it a 9 out of 10 and was very pleased with it. Amasing little gadget.Read full review
For an obsolete tech product, it is still very useful. You can link up with the net with the sdio ethernet and use an sdio gps to make it a nav computer for your vehicle. I use the 1/8" audio jack to interface with my car stereo...hundreds of mp3s on a 1gb sd card. Uses the excellent Fruanhoffer codec for mp3. Very fast little computer, but tensds to skip when playing mp3s and having two or more apps running and processing, eg a word document open and using the camera at the same time you are playing mp3s with Media Player 9. The choppiness stops as soon as the camera is running a few moments though.
Sorry I could not ever get the thing working as it should. I just gave up

Very happy with the pocket PC. It was in Excellent condition. This is my 2nd pocket PC (same model) as I dropped the first one and it stopped working.
A fan of the word processing element in order to make papers easier to write without needing to boot my laptop with the exception of printing.
