Velvet Revolver. A culmination of the best of the late 80's and 90's. Slash, Duff, and Matt from Guns and Roses, Scott Weiland from The Stone Temple Pilots, and Dave Kushner, most widely known for his participation in LOADED. As this might seem a "follow-up" to Guns and Roses, the complete opposite is found. You find a newly reformed, reinvented, and reinstilled area of Guns and Roses never found. Accompanied by Scott's lizard-like vocals, what more could one ask for? th their debue song "Slither" one can see Slash's genius in such a catchy intro, not too mention the short but sweet solo close to the end. One can catch Scott's correctly named,"slithery" vocals, that when listened too one can see the immense talent and range vocally in the song. From Tenor to Soprano, from Alto to Tenor, one can see his immense talent and can see why Slash, Matt, and Duff chose Scott as the succesor for Axle. Another thing to consider in this song is Dave's rythm guitar. He plays excellent second and knows exactly when to jump in, and exactly when to quiet it down, making it a awesome collaboration between him and Slash. In their so called "power ballad" on can catch on to certain tendencies remembered from old times back with, Sweet Child of Mine. After observing this interesting intro, one observes the change in vocal style. Instead of the high-pitched scratchy voice, one is welcomed by a soprano that is later followed by a beautiful guitar solo by Slash. After watching the video, one can see the meaning of the song and fell the emotions depicted by Weiland in his mirthful, melancholy lyrics. All in all, one can see the emotions depicted by millions of people around the world. The good and the bad, the sad and the happy. Filled in with intricate guitar solos, pounding drum beats, up-beat bass, and collaborative second guitar, what more could one ask for? A follow up to Guns and Roses? No. Maybe some members of Guns and Roses but accompanied by a more potent couple, Scott Weildand and Dave Kushner. A reinvented sound, a reinvented band, a whole new reinvented way to Rock and Roll. With all the "emo" and soundless rock that sounds the same, it is refreshing to hear a band such as Velvet Revolver. And with millions of albums sold, refreshing to many people! What more to expect? A new album. A whole new book of lyrics, solos, guitar, drums, bass, and cover art. A whole new Velvet Revolver no one has seen yet. A softer side and a harder side. One will see the new age of Rock welcomed in by none only but Velvet Revolver. The only question left is, are you ready for it? venezuelanpimp68Read full review
Velvet Revolver is a remade GNR -(though I truley love this band)--and Without insult to Axle Rose. I realy wish his temper could have been tamed by him ,but in the same respect I wish the band that stormed the nation would have never left. I feel that no matter what band your in that all the tallent that goes into one will shine and it takes all to make it happen! Slash may have felt it was as much a band as his but he could not have done it without Axle and I feel he knows that!At last their supporters suffer without them! I read Axle Roses blog and he seems bitter about Velvet Revolver and we all think he should get off his ass and do something about it! Tallent can be wasted at one beer at a time and what are you going to do? How about get the band back together and burry the hatchet!!!Read full review
