I wanted a Vista-compatible, used digital cam (my current Praktica isn't Vista-compatible, & the upgrade costs more than a decent used or cheap new digital). I had a tight budget, wanting to stay under $80 (tough call). I read web reviews and knew brands I wanted to avoid; some I might want were beyond $80. My initial pick wouldn't have been a Sony, as no experience with the brand. But, I saw that some models had Carl Zeiss lenses, & this one had the charger, cord, included. I wasn't familiar with the model and was taking a gamble but it did have a 14 day return option, so I bid. Very different from my Praktica. Huge viewing screen. Many set-up choices...probably more than I need or want...not accustomed to so much automation. Touch-screen adjustments for everything. A manual wasn't included nor a case, but figured I could find a manual online. Initially couldn't figure out how to open it, as the design is unique. Heavy for it's size, but not cumbersome. Would have really liked a case, but opting for my price limit, wanting the Zeiss lens (not all of these have that lens), etc., you can't get 'everything'. Takes clear pics. Haven't figured out the flash set up yet & inside, if it's dark, the flash highlights the main subject & leaves background too dark with subject too bright. I'm sure with all the gizmos, there's a way to adjust that, but haven't read how. There are different print size choices, macro of course, and supposed scene settings, which I really don't care about, haven't used & don't know if I will. Don't know yet how it handles depth of field adjustment/settings. If you want something really basic, this isn't quite it. Before my Praktica digital, I had an Olympus point/shoot (film), before that a Canon 35mm film, & before that a Rollei 35mm film, so I'm unaccustomed to so much gadgetry/choices. Took close ups of pets, (inside, daylight, without flash, near a curtained window, filtered light), and the clarity and color were outstanding...no complaints. Pet appears almost '3D' staring at the camera. Fur, whiskers, eyes very very clear. Colors very true, no fuzzy edges or fade-off. Equivalent to 100 ISO film clarity. So all in all very pleased. Don't know if it's the Sony, or the fact of the Zeiss lens. Automatic charger easy to use and hook up to computer easy. For the price, unlikely to do better. Only problem I could anticipate is since it doesn't have batteries and must be re-charged, if you were out in the boonies (no electricity), taking many pix, the charge might run down...don't know how long it lasts.Read full review
I have owned alot of cameras in my days here on Earth but none of them hold up to this small yet powerful Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T200. This camera can macro up closer than any other camera that i have seen or used. It takes beautiful pictures and video's very easly and is so simple to use. I like the large screen and the fact that it is all touch screen. if you are looking for a very nice camera then this is the one for you. Small Light weight and very simplistic.
This is one heck of a great camera. Sadly though, I haven't had the best of luck with Sony's cameras, with respect to durability. I wanted to stay with the Sony product line to make the most of my other owned peripherals (printer, memory sticks) and cut back on the learning curve for the family. This product has it all for a point and shoot camera, really, except that it rapidly was not able to produce crisp pictures (autofocus issues). This was my 4th Sony camera (all have been gifts), and the 4th to fail. Not a happy camper with their support. I did get another , and an happy thus far.

This is an excellent camera. It is actually my second time buying this camera and I love it. It is easy to use and very well made. No problems at all. It fits in a pocket and my family loves it.
