There are a number of reasons I decided on this particular motherboard. 1) The thermal cooling is excellent if one adds a chassie fan 50mm to the motherboard; the cover just to the left of the processor must be removed to add this fan. 2) EZflash is really that easy. I updated the flash rom to the latest available at ASUS support website and it was done in five minutes total. (I do recommend taking down all the bios settings before doing a FLASH so that you don't get stuck in a non-boot motherboard even though it would occur by operator error, meaning that the new bios doesn't remember prior settings; so if you're not sure about what all the settings do, take photos of every page before you upgrade to save on headaches. 3) This board also has the high quality capacitors that really last years. All boards work in the short term, but I expect to use this motherboard for at least ten years. 4) This board handles 64-bit OS and 16GIG RAM so it's designed to handle future speeds and capacities. 5) there are a number of thermal temp sensors on the motherboard, and there are a number of fan speed controls to measure heat just about everyone that's important. Heat is the biggest threat to a motherboard and components, ASUS made this board to manage that risk perfect.Read full review
excellent quality as I have come to expect from ASUS. Highly and easily overclocks flawlessly with the click of a few buttons. The statement 'Built to military standards' is quite apparent upon inspection and the armor cladding is impressive to look at. Covering the board components with protective cladding is something other manufacturers should take note of especially with the amount of people assembling their own computers now and the higher than normal chances of a short. The Bios is easy to access and quite user friendly so even a novice can tune their components. I recommend this board to everyone i know that builds their own computers. I purchased this board based on other reviews that i read and am happy to say they were all right on the money. Definitely worth the extra cost.
This Asus Sabertooth P67 is performing up to my vast expectations and more. Since installing this sturdy and reliable mobo, I've learned to instantaneously overclock my core i5 2500k to 4.2Ghz (running very stable with my Noctua NH-U12P heatsink). The Noctua marries well with the overall color scheme of the board. All my favorite games run smoothly and effortlessy on this system. Although, I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit for the time being, the Sabertooth P67's BIOS/UEFI has an update to allow full compatibility with Windows 8. All in all I haven't regretted my $108 winning bid on this 2yr+ old motherboard. CURRENT SYSTEM SPECS.... Won’t save bios setting after unplug. It is a good board though. Update: bios battery dead. I replaced it and it is good now.
