This was a required text for my Social Issues course. It's small, affordable, and easy to understand. Much of the information is applicable to tangible and practical situations, so you don't feel like you're studying for an undergraduate class. It brings to light some of the most prominent social issues, without being so dense in material. It's simplicity has lead to complex discussions, and I believe this is always the best way to learn. I recommend it as a great learning tool, if you're interested in sociology at all!
