Don't let the Pedal slide guitar fool you; this ain't no Nashville band. This four piece combo from Jersey comes across like Sly and the Family Stone meets Living Color. Jazzy, funky, bluesy, with some black gospel thrown in for flavor. Mmmm.... tasty tasty soup. This is the first album from this band, but you've already heard some stuff from the second album on Tv; NBC uses "Ain't nothin' wrong with that" on most of thier comedy promos. You might also have seen them on Letterman. These guys are the real deal and a refreshing departure from the sappy whinny stuff they're playing on FM these days.
No doubt you've heard the saying not to judge a book by its cover, the same holds true for this band. If you think of a little Lenny Kravitz mix it with a little of the soul of Stevie Wonder with a thoroughly modern alternative sound then you have a pretty good idea of how this band sounds. I recommend it to anyone that likes to listen to music that veers off the beaten path and makes a new kind of music uniquely their own.
Great Cd I highly recommend it..thanks
