This product worked well to digitize my collection of 12 cassettes. The biggest drawback I found was the rather flimsy door mechanism, which I don't think will last through very many cassettes. The included software for capturing the audio output is an old version of Audacity, an open source audio processing tool with many excellent features, but the sheer number of features may confuse someone with weak computer skills. Instead of installing Audacity from the included CD, I would recommend installing the current version from their website. Audacity allows you to save to many file types other than MP3, such as my current favorite, Ogg Vorbis (.ogg files), which are supported by most smartphones. Audacity also has many editing features, which allow you to clean up the raw audio input, add text tags, etc. Be sure to plug this product into the USB port *before* you start Audacity. Then, in Audacity, look at the 4 little text boxes between the controls at the top and the track at the bottom. In the second of these boxes from the left, the input device box, select "USB PnP Audio Device". Because this product has a headphone jack and can be powered by batteries or adapter, it can also be used as a portable cassette player (with batteries) or a non-portable player (with an adapter, which is not included). Otherwise it gets its power from the USB connection, which does not require batteries or an adapter.Read full review

I had a lot of old cassettes that I couldn't play, which had some of my favorite music. I've tried to get said music from i-Tunes and some were just not available. Finally I was able to get them from this device and put them on my CD's and i-pod touch and shuffle. I was more than thrilled by the results and these Super USB CASSETTE CAPTURE devices were great. I couldn't be happier, get one if you need to do the same. Rick M.

I purchased this package to transfer audio recorded in the late 1970's to a modern digital format. I downloaded the newest (free) software to best facilitate the effort. No problems experienced and i was able to convert the recordings to multiple digital file types. Very cheap and efficient way of performing this work and I highly recommend the product.

Good quality for the price. I had a Walkman in the past. It was very good quality, but of course more expensive. This is good enough for the price
