I have only had it a couple of weeks and the black handle has hairline cracks in the finish. It has only been used four times. Rinsing it off with water should not be the reason why. My guess is that it was done during manufacturing and I just now noticed it.

The previous natural wood finished brush I have has stiffer bristles which I prefer, the finish on the wood did come off and I just refinished it with gunslick stock finish and it is just like new. That brush never shed a bristle, and I expect the same of the black finished one I purchased. I have had other cheaper brushes, sold in a green box, forget the name that began shedding immediately. Stick with tweezermans if you want a brush that last. This is a good price and value. Tip, get a stand for your brush so it can dry out between uses, there are some that hold both the brush and razor and are very convenient.
