I first saw this DVD on PBS and immediately wanted to watch again. It is a journey through the not-so-mainstream Southern California music scene of in the early 1970's. The interviews and music are both amazing and awe inspiring. Really takes you back to a much simpler time when the music was the only thing that mattered and success was simply the privilege of being heard. An honest, in depth look at the story behind the music that would soon become mainstream and redirect our thoughts from the revolution and angry era of the sixties into a more mellow, yet meaningful and insightful, seventies generation. Interviews with James Taylor and Carole King are at the forefront of this documentary along with others, such as Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Martin, Cheech & Chong, and David Crosby. Other music featured includes Joni Mitchell, Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Elton John, and more. If you love this music, if you lived this era, this collection is a must-have!!Read full review
