Great element use with caution, and be safe!!!
This is a very useful heater as long as safety precautions are taken. You should use it in a large container (5-gallon bucket) filled with water, turn off when reaches temperature needed unplug/turn off no switch on the element. Turn off 1 .minute before removing from water. The element will heat 5 gallons of water from 70°F to 115° in 15 to 17 minutes. You could buy a switch plugin or even a thermostat switch or plug and unplug. Use With Caution and be safe works great!!!This is a very useful heater as long as safety precautions are taken. Corrosion problem.
I bought one to use in my camper, im now in the process of returning it. I literally tested it in some water [not hard water] and with in the first test these spots started to appear, this is after 4 tests. My concern is either the finish is failing or the insides are already going bad. It does heat water, but it took maybe 6 minutes to heat to the begining of boil about a gallon or less of tap water. A simple 1500 watt kettle pot heated much faster, which makes me suspect its not heating at the 1300 watts its rated at. It was only about 8 bucks, but not worth buying im opinion which was sad as i was excited that it would work well.I bought one to use in my camper, im now in the process of returning it. Not what I expected or wanted
I wanted one of those little things to see you in March in a mug of coffee or hot chocolate or tea or something next to your bed to keep it warm in the night. This thing is way too big for that. Would never fit in any container.

Do not risk to use this kind of item. Really dangerous! The one I bought melted at the end and damaged the pot. Scared to death. Fortunately, did not cause fire.
