This travel guitar is just what I was looking for. It's an excellent travel guitar, and I do recommend it. It is well made, nice neck and size. Gig bag is excellent. I do have one remark to give a heads up to a new buyer. The body for this guitar is stiff, and because it's a small volume, it does not project well. That's to be expected for a small volume acoustic guitar, and it does not have a full guitar sound. I like this guitar and have no complaints, however it will take some time for it to lose its stiffness and begin to sound better. Also, I haven't had time to find a new set of strings that might improve its sound. But, again, it's an great travel guitar, and I plan to use it for staying in practice when I travel.

I have been looking for an acoustic travel guitar that I really like for several years. A few years back, I purchased a Martin Backpacker, and although I like it, I was never thrilled with the sound. I didn't expect it to sound like a full size guitar, but I did wish that it had a little fuller sound. I also have experience playing a Washburn Rover. I like the Washburn Rover a little more than the Backpacker, but I was looking for other options in hopes that I would find something even better. When I first saw the Guitar Works Travel Guitar, I noticed that the body appeared to be slightly deeper than the Washburn Rover. I was hoping this would equal greater projection and an overall fuller sound. I was not disappointed when I received the Guitar Works guitar, and played it for the first time! It definetly sounds better to me than the Backpacker or the Rover. I like the feel of the neck better than the Backpacker, and it's a tie with the Rover! It was setup very well out of the box, and the seller will set it up to your specs if you ask when you place an order! The other thing that makes sense to me about this guitar is the fact that it is built with laminate wood, rather than solid wood. In my opinion, a "Travel Guitar" should be built to withstand rapid changes in climate, and other abuse that may be thrown at it. Although solid wood makes a difference in the tone a guitar produces, I can't imagine that with a soundboard as small as that of a travel guitar, the difference in tone would be great enough to sacrifice the enhanced durability that the laminate woods provide. Oddly, the Martin backpacker is made from 100% solid wood (I've seen more used Martin Backpackers with soundboard cracks than not!), and the Washburn Rover has a solid top. Even though the Guitar Works Travel Guitar is made from laminate, it still sounds and projects better than the Washburn Rover and the Martin Backpacker in my opinion! If you are in the market for a small portable acoustic guitar that can handle the abuses of travel, I highly recommend trying this guitar! In my opinion, it is the best option available for this purpose!Read full review

First, the good. It's a nice looking instrument and a nice size for grab and go or low volume strumming on the couch without disturbing the neighbors. I also like the fact that it has a full length scale and truss rod, as some travel guitars don't have thees features. Don't expect a great tone or good sound projection. You won't get that with any guitar this size. It's about 1/3 - 1/4 the size of a full size dreadnaught. That's the whole point - a small easily transportable guitar. The value is fair. You can certainly get better full size acoustic guitars for the price but travel guitars tend to be overpriced a bit so this one is a decent bargain compared to other similar instruments on the market. Now the issue I had with mine is that it came with a terribly high set-up. I had to sand a lot off the saddle to get the action comfortable. After doing so, there isn't a whole lot of saddle showing above the bridge which means the neck angle isn't good but at least it plays pretty good now. Otherwise the construction and materials are pretty decent. Mine has a small finish crack where the neck meats the body but not real noticable and it doesn't affect anything so I can live with it. All in all, I'm not disappointed but I might someday upgrade my grab and go travel guitar to something with a little bit bigger body like a parlor size.Read full review

After doing research I discovered the most popular of the travel guitars doesn't even have a truss rod to "true" the neck and 75% of then experience cracked tops eventually. After all this I stumbled upon the Guitar Works travel guitar. It's PERFECT with an adjustable neck and a sturdy, reliable laminate top. Looks great and plays really nice! The seller sets it up and it arrives ready to play. I bought this as a travel/practice guitar and love it already. If you do your research you will find this guitar the obvious top choice. Well built, perfect setup, adjustable neck, great looking, great sounding, and comes pre-setup so its simply a no-brainer. Oh and a really nice soft case and guitar strap makes it an incredible value. LOVE IT!!!!!! Thanks RSW

This beats a lot of the small guitars I have tried out. The neck is a real neck and plays like a full size acoustic. The sound is of course smaller than a full size acoustic, but sounds pretty good for a guitar you can take anywhere. It fits snug in the case and makes a small package.
