This book is so captivating that you will not put it down. Plan to spend a few hours engrossed in the story about Cole, a troubled youth from Minneapolis, who is given his last chance to turn around his life through a Circle Justice program. The young man has to face his anger alone, camped on a remote Alaskan island, for a period of one year. Circle Justice, a practice of Native people's (according to the author), is being used in some judicial systems. Excellent book for those interested in stories about troubled youth, adjudicated youth, and treatment programs. Although a fictional writing, worth reading and mulling.

This book is an awesome portrayal of how left to ones own devices without interference from the outside world can allow a juvenile delinquent to accept responsibility for his own actions and work towards making amends for himself and his victim.
