I bought this solely for the lifetime map updates. The Tomtom site states the maps for this GPS has expired. I would have to purchase map updates if I want them. I will gladly change this review if someone can send me specific details on how to update maps on this GPS without having to purchase them.

The TomTom Via 1405 TM is very easy to use, it works very well, it is fast, precise and till now never failed !!! It's fast even to recalculate the route when you go in another direction respect to that one suggested from it. I bught it because is inespensive, reliable and it has updated map for ever ! And that is one of the most important thing for me ! Maybe it doesn't has so many features but for me they are not so important ! I'm hapy with it !
