Real easy to use. Not much of an owners manual, but it's pretty straight forward and relatively easy to get going. Download the MyDrive Go software to your computer, open it and just hook up the Go 50 to your USB port and it updates automatically. Only thing is that you also have to download the MyDrive App to your cellphone and connect via Bluetooth since it uses the cells data to retrieve live traffic updates for on the fly corrections and route changes due to traffic. And it works very well. You don't have to use it in conjunction with your cell phone, but you won't get any live traffic updates while your driving. You get a 3 month free trial of TomTom Traffic, then it's an in app purchase time if you want to continue the service. I also used it with my motorcycle and it worked great on a 500 mile trip in the northeast. Never lost a signal during my ride with it and it worked flawlessly. The screen isn't as touch sensitive as I would have liked, you really have to make sure you hit the on screen tab buttons, but other than that, it's a solid GPS that works as intended. I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing it again.Read full review

This was to replace a VIA 1505 whose battery finally died. This unit takes a major step backwards as it require a smartphone to access the traffic and other features. It is slow to start, 45 seconds to start, and takes excessive time to enter an address. Of note, you need a street number to use the unit as there is no way to enter an intersection. Without the street number you can be at its mercy as it chooses a random point if the street is long. Also, accuracy is poor as it placed me a quarter of a mile away from a chosen location. Close, but no prize. Also POI's are not readily available and the unit decides what POI it will show. You can not pick what to see. I did not need to see the locations of charging stations with a gas engine car. The battery life is only 30 minutes after a full charge. On the plus side, rerouting is very quick if you do not follow the turn by turn instructions. It probably would be a unit to back up a better model, but not a primary unit with its flaws in accuracy and capabilities. . Read full review

I purchased this to replace a Magellan gps.. I was shocked that even after making sure the maps were up to date the road I live on is still labeled with a FIVE YEAR OLD NAME, one would think the new name would be on the road. The Magellan had it right. Older tomtom GPS devices seem far better and user friendly. You can no longer make map corrections.

Incredibly complicated to use when I compare to my old TomTom. Sometimes 'improvements' like we see with do-everything smart phones (we returned ours and went back to a flip phone recently) are not needed and make life too complicated. Life in the 1800's was probably more sane?

I had used the Tom Tom Via before and was hoping this would be similar. I was disappointed. I still like TomTom but I would choose Via over TotTom Go.
