I bought the 695's this spring after using callaways for a few years. I have a 8 handicap, and have about five rounds on these clubs. They are excellent players clubs, i have very good distance control, and can shape shots pretty easy with these clubs. They are very sweet when you hit a flush shot with them, and even misshits stayed on line. Every round has gotten better as i'm still getting used to them. I would say a 10 handicap or lower would love these clubs.
I've had these irons for about 2 1/2 years now, they are exceptional, I'm even looking to purchase a second set in good condition as a back-up set so that when my grooves ultimately wear out, I'll have a set in reserve. This set is unexpectedly forgiving considering the very traditional look and feel. One complaint I do have, which is easily correctable, is that the long irons are almost too easy to hit high in the air for a blade, I would suggest all users of these clubs with a higher ball flight to tweak their lofts 1 degree strong for mid and long irons.
I am very pleased with the 695 CB. I play roughly 25 rounds a year to a 11 handicap and have tried other irons and really like these best. Very clean and traditional look. Overall a sharp looking set of irons which instills confidence. The irons are somewhat forgiving on off center hits with not a huge loss of distance. Catch it in the sweet spot and wow what a feeling only a forged iron can achieve! Not the most forgiving irons, but workability is very good. The topline is pleasing and the balance is great. The distance is about 3-4 yards stronger than my previous set of irons. I got them for a very fair price and am very satified.
I purchased these irons for my 15 year-old son and he loves them. I have hit them several times and they are very sweet. He is a7 handicap, was a 13 before we bought them and he took a week or so to get the hang of them, but he is a good ball striker and he now absolutely loves them. My son is getting good distance (170 yd. 7-iron, 180 yd+ 6-iron, etc) and great accuracy and workability from these. The irons have enabled him to fade, draw and generally shape shots with good precision. I am a 18-ish handicap (mid 90's) and, although I can hit the higher irons, these are for better players.
If you are looking to add to your golf game I strongly suggest that you look into a set of these irons. The 695cb Forged irons allow you to have more workability than traditional clubs. They have a nice soft feel and a great sound. They may be blades, and smaller club heads, but this look really increases the confidence that I have when I line up to the ball. Other than being great clubs, you can get them at a really good price. Good luck, and enjoy these irons if you decide to get a set.
