I haven't been into photography for long, but something I read when I bought my first camera sticks with me. "Always use a UV filter on your lenses". Put it on when you buy the lens, take it off to clean it when it's taken the abuse for your lens, and replace as needed. I have never had a filter save a lens, because I've been lucky so far, but I want one on there incase it does happen. Tiffens seem to be crystal clear, have a good reputation and don't break the bank.

I like it's clarity and threads. Looks and generally performs like a decent bargain...until...the glare around some light sources. Ugh! Take the bad with the good and use your own brain to test any glare issues ahead of time. I'm keeping in case I go into environmentally hostile places. But this isn't a "set it and forget it" leave on lens. Good luck!

I have used TiFFEN filters (various lens sizes) and found these work great on my lens, in term of optical as well as keeping my lens from dust and unwanted scratches. Besides, the quality of TiFFEN filter also so good with me. Highly recommended. Thanks.

Have only used it for about 100 pics. Used indoors and outdoors while on vacation in Jamaica. Consistently clear pics and color seems to be spot on. Most of shots outdoors was full sun. Indoor pics were no flash, long exposure on tripod shots.

Inexpensive protection for the lens. Much of my photography is outdoors and protection is essential for the lens. This filter has already had rain, snow and mud removed that would have otherwise been very hard on the lens. Being uncoated it's very easy to clean. Of course, being uncoated it also has a bit more reflectivity if you're shooting into the light. Oh, and the included "magicfiber" cleaning cloth works pretty well as well. A a nice little bonus.
