I LOVED the Thundercats as a kid (and still do today). Over the last 6 years I have spent WAY too much money on "homemade", "bootleg" Thunrdercats VHS and DVD sets. I just wanted to have those episodes again...but the quality was always pretty poor. Now, this new DVD set is of course, top rate quality; sound and picture. It's just like seeing them on tv, but better (no commercials). I am not here to tell you how great the Thundercats are, or how interesting the character are, or how much I liked the series...I am here to report on the DVD set itself. That's the point of this review. I loved the DVD box set's cover. It's a hologram, featuring movement, of Lion-o, brandishing his mighty Sword of Omens. I enjoy just looking at the box! Episodes are all in order and great quality, but there are no extras. The point of getting DVD sets is not just for the shows but for the extras...behind the scenes stuff...such as artwork, hearing from the writers and producers, audio commentaries, interviews with the voice actors...stuff like that. If this set had even a few of those features, I would be over the moon (over over New Thundera's moon, anyway). But it does not. It's just the episides and that's it. So, if like me, you're looking for just taht little bit extra, you will probably be disappointed. Again, I am not complaining about the Thundercats at all...I am complaining about the people who put this DVD set together. We dedicated fans have been waiting 20 years for this to come out; you think in all that time they'd be able to get a little extra insider's information for us.Read full review
I am a lover to the 80's challenge series. For this reason it was my desire to be able to enter the animated series. To remember chapters that I came to see when I was only twelve years old. With this purchase I hope to see the end of the series.

Finally, after all these years, ThunderCats are on DVD. I have been a fan for 20 years now and it seems like it took forever to get the series on DVD but it was well worth the wait. These classic toons featuring half man half cat Superheroes battling evil mutants and an ancient evil mummy among other things were underappreciated at first but developed a gigantic fanbase over the years to this day. Although I am 30 years old, I was excited to learn that WB had acquired the rights to the ThunderCats because that means something will be revived in some way! Hopefully, it will be a new series and new toys and maybe even a feature film! These DVD sets are great and you will not be disappointed. Retailing in stores for $60, you can always find a great deal on them on ebay, usually around half the price. If you are a huge fan or have never seen the ThunderCats, I would recommend these to anyone. I love them and think you will too !Read full review
Controversial as it's always has been with some drama filled felines and everything else I expected out of this feature; like when it was first on the air in the early eighties! My my it was one of the #1 attractions at that time to watch, and right now also it's still up there seemingly as one of the best top chart toppers today..
This is an awesome cartoon series back from the 1980's. A group of Thundercat nobles travels from their doomed world of Thundera to Third Earth where they encounter powerful forces from both their hated enemies, the Mutants but also from Mumm-ra. Along with the adventures of the Thundercats comes life lessons taught the Code of Thundera.
