I bought a newer model Thompson Center Impact that breech plug still uses the removal tool. The removal tool that came with my Impact is very short and with the scope I have on it I could not get it to turn because the rod that goes in the end making it look like a "T" would hit the back end of the scope. I saw this older breech plug removal tool that was made for some of their very early center fire models so I questioned the size of the end. It is 7/16's across the flats and is the same diameter as my Impact. So it fits and has plenty of distance to spare. Well worth the price.

I could not remove the breach plug without it. I have other tools but they were too large to fit through the narrow opening.
