This album is the follow up of the "Mer De Norms" album and if you liked that one you'll love this one.I've seen these guys live when they toured for this album and the show was beyond what words can describe. They opened up with the song Vanishing and it gave me chills.Every song off "Thirteenth Step" was almost played. The music on this album is mind blowing.Songs like A Stranger,The Noose, and The Nurse Who Loved Me show you how talented this band really is.Words can't explain it as well as your ears can.A Perfect Circle will continue to amaze us with thier unique sound that no one has yet to duplicate.FEED YOUR EARS THIS ONE.I GUARANTEE THEY COME BACK FOR SECONDS.
I found Mer de Noms in a CD rack at a Half Price Books last September and loved it. This in turn, is why I bought Thirteenth Step. Initially I was a little disappointed because of the lack of heavier songs on this album but it's really grown on me. Concept albums like this are about creating an atmosphere as you listen and that makes them a little more difficult to appreciate. However, most of the songs on here are great individually too. My personal favorite's are The Noose, A Stranger, Weak and Powerless, and The Package.
Great music. Love most of the tracks. This album needs a ballet to be choreographed for it. Yes, it's truly hard rock (IMO) but also flowing and beautiful.

A very good album with a unique style of rock and roll. Surreal and sometimes mesmerizing beats are nice to listen to after a stressful day at work. If you are looking for more of a hard style of rock you may want to check out something from tool .
