I decided to buy this book at the suggestion of an attending. I needed a quick resource that would also give me some etiologies and pathophysiology. I decided to ask an attending for a good resource and she recommended the washington manual. As a 3rd year student on her internal medicine rotation, I found it helpful to really understand the disease process of my patients I encountered on the wards. It also has some management and I really found helpful was the references to evidence-based articles. This may prove helpful if asked to find an article to support your management decisions. It's almost like a pocket up-to-date. The only thing about it, it is bulky and can weigh down your white coat. It very much is tailored to general internal medicine and may not cover speciatly areas in detail. However, the shelf exam is very generalized also.Read full review
