I took French in high school for 4 years, but that was almost 30 years ago. Now I wanted to brush up on my French so I can chat with a French-speaking friend in Morocco. I was looking for a grammar book that was not too easy and yet not too dry and boring. This book is just what I was looking for. I learned more subtleties about French grammar in the first two chapters than I did in 4 years of class. The lessons move along at a pretty quick pace and they really do assume that you have (or had) a basic grasp of the language and pronunciation. But the vocabulary is current and interesting (none of this "Le livre est sur la table. Où est le livre?" stuff).
I LOVE this book. It has all the grammer I could possibly want and a log of all of the answers to the review exercises in the back. There is a good amount of vocabulary and as an advanced level learner of French, I feel that this book is absolutely perfect. It is better than many of the regular textbooks I have had. I needed review and searched Half.com for french review books. this came up and it was an incredible bargin and I am so glad that I bought it. Thank you!!
Great book for French 4 in high school. I bought it for my daughter so she would have her own copy. It will be good for college french as well.
