The Three Stooges Collection, volume 6 is a belly-laugh inducing collection from the Stooges' going-strong era from 1949-51. After Curly Howard's departure from the act in 1947 due to health problems, his older brother Shemp was brought on board (reluctantly) to help brother Moe Howard and Larry Fine continue the act. The Stooges were really hitting their stride in the late '40's. They were getting plenty of brand-new scripts and screenplays from longtime writers Clyde Bruckman, Felix Adler, Elwood Ullman, et al., though Columbia still made them re-use some earlier footage (but not nearly as much as they did from '52-'58), and several Curly-era shorts were re-made during this time. The results were hilarious...shorts like "Who Done It?", "Malice in the Palace", "Dopey Dicks", "Self-Made Maids", "Slaphappy Sleuths", "Three Arabian Nuts", and "Scrambled Brains" are among my personal favorites. Every episode is a laugh riot, though-you'll be tickled even if you're not a Stooge fan. Fans who negatively compare Shemp with Curly really are missing out on loads of funny stuff-Shemp was a comedic genius, as was Curly (as well as Moe and Larry). The REAL humor was in their work as a unit; no single Stooge would have been as successful on his own. If folks would just enjoy the Shemp episodes on their own merit, they might find themselves laughing just as loudly as if they were watching Curly in his prime. I loved this collection, period. 5*****Read full review
.We love the Stooges. The fact that this collection has Shemp in it is wonderful. You don’t usually see that much of Shemp. Most of the shorts stat Curly whom we also love. But Shemp is funny in his own right too. Great addition to our collection.

A Five Star***** No Worries buying from these Dealers. Product Is As Described… Love those Stooges!…Even if they were not socially "correct"…. give it up…they Were and Still are funny!! Time compared to what is out out these days, for the young ones to watch…..It's harmless and funny…..I'm old school…Don't need the Vampire nonsense that leads to Mayhem in my book…. And much worse….
never been any other guys any funnier than the 3 stooges
