I feel cheated by the BBQ books that are over 50% corny stories, but the people who put this book together made it bigger so they could put in a lot of really great and authentic recipes, they also added some great old pictures and “how this came about”. Great book at a great price.

Besides well representing the delicious combination of Mexican and Texan foods, this book offers a great treatise on the history of the cuisine while including wonderful recipes. I highly recommend this book to all who wish to better appreciate Tex-Mex and the various menus at Mexican restaurants across the US. While some who suggest they are purists and scoff at some items, they can be further informed that Mexican food not only differs by region in Mexico but also varies as it incorporates dishes prepared by those paying homage to what began over a century ago in San Antonio.
