I like this book because it gives me a quick way to check on the foods that will be healthy choices (vs. the choices I have typically made in my life that are not healthy). I already had the first book that tells all about the South Beach program and includes recipes, but this little guide lists tons of food choices and rates them. The only thing I don't like about it is the arrangement of different types of food. I'm forever looking in the wrong place, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it after I've used it awhile.
This is the companion book to the original South Beach Diet book. I highly recommend using it if you are on the diet. It helps you quickly watch your carbs and portions for so many everyday foods that it will make staying on the diet easier. It is also useful for the same reason even if you are not strictly on the diet. There is a small supermarket cheat sheet and a small section on eating out, which are both helpful despite their small sizes. The book includes a good table of contents and an index to help you find what you need. Overall, an excellent little book.
for those who are overwhelmed by fatty food then you need to read this book for it will be very specific on which fats are good, which are bad and what physical improvements you can make that can speed your weight loss.

I really love how simple it is to read and to follow. I'm a no nonsense guy and don't have time for the latest fads etc.I'm also a heart patient so I do my research very carefully. This is the first time that have found something that is easy to follow and it does not waste your time with nonsense talk. Very well thought, researched and good for anyone. Bottom line it really works for me.
