This book is a classic about fitting patterns to the person. I have seen demonstrations of the technique before, but this book explains it very thoroughly. Most people do not have the same measurements as a pattern because patterns are made to an average set of measurements. How many of us are average in other ways? It is too frustrating to buy a pattern, lay it out on the fabric, cut it out, sew it up, and then not have it fit, or worse yet be too small in one area and have to throw it away. With this system, a person can easily be assured that there will at least be enough fabric to go around all parts of the body and any adjustments afterwards will be minor.
One of the most valuable sewing resources I have with respect to how to get paper patterns to fit your own body. How clever were the women in this golden age of sewing. A must have resource for every home sewer who wants clothes that fit better then off the rack.

This was a great find and I am finding it very helpful in sewing for myself and others. My 4-Hers are using this technique to fit their clothes for sewing also. I am thrilled to finally have found this book at a great price.
